Our Summary of the 2019 Louisville Slugger Solo 619:
The Solo 618 (last year’s bat) became one of the most productive and highly reviewed first-generation USA bats. The 2019 Louisville Slugger Solo 619 USA Bat promises to deliver the same consistent performance with some added features that can elevate your youth child’s game to the next level. It utilizes a single piece aluminum construction with a balanced swing weight and one of the stiffest most traditional feels from any USA bat. The 2 5/8 barrel features Louisville’s SL Hyper Alloy which by design will maximize the amount of energy transfer upon the baseball after initiating contact. Topping the barrel is the newly patented Speed Ballistic Composite end cap that increases barrel length, swing speed, and balance throughout the entire bat. The anti-vibration handle comes pre-wrapped with Louisville’s new LS Pro Comfort Grip for extra cushion and an enhanced feeling of comfort. The 2019 Louisville Slugger Solo 619 USA Bat will probably be the most sold USA bat this year because of the proven performance from last year’s model. It’s a perfect youth bat for younger contact hitters or those struggling to keep up with pitches in the strike zone.

Our Comprehensive Review of the 2019 Louisville Slugger Solo 619:
As the USA Bat Standard came about last season, Louisville’s Solo was by far and away one of the most popular USA bats among based upon our evaluation data and widespread feedback across the youth baseball community. The -11 drew the same results at our evaluation from last year with one major improvement. All three Solos in our possession weighed in at our very close to the stamped weight on the barrel. The Solo 619 continues to prove that players don’t need a composite barrel or a USA bat with a price tag north of $300 to deliver offensive production. After approximately 250+ swings with solid contact, the following is our review of the 2019 Louisville Slugger Solo 619 -11 drop USA bat. Side note- our staff has not reviewed the -13 drop Solo. That particular Solo features a 2 ½ barrel diameter. Our staff centralizes their focus on USA bats featuring the maximum barrel capacity of 2 5/8. At seasons’ end, if time permits us to review the -13, we definitely will.
Evaluating The Pop Of The 2019 Louisville Slugger Solo 619:
In terms of pop, the Solo 619 mirrored the same results as the first edition last year. With a more narrowed sweet spot, and an ultra- balanced weight distribution of the allotted alloy material, the Solo will definitely carry the ball when hit fundamentally. We should note, the primary design of this USA bat isn’t to blast home runs over the fence. The Solo hones on player development and skill-based training by creating fluid, level, and quick swings. As with most drop -11 youth baseball bats, power is derived more from speed capabilities rather than pop potential.
OFFICIAL SCORE: 9 / 10
Calculating The Vibration Control Of The 2019 Louisville Slugger Solo 619:
As a means of shielding young sluggers from the irritating stinging sensations that inevitably occur when batting, the Solo 619 delivered a 90% success rate during our evaluation process. Generally, single-piece aluminum bats allow for more vibrations than composites or bats housing a two-piece construction. Especially considering the Solo features a slightly smaller sweet spot, we were very impressed with its high-quality alloy material.
OFFICIAL SCORE: 9 / 10
Assessing The Grip & Comfort Of The 2019 Louisville Slugger Solo 619:
After two seasons under the USA Bat Standard, we feel confident stating that it is one of the most comfortable and user-friendly bats available to USA Baseball participants. For the second year in a row, none of our youth volunteer batters had any complaints the feel, grip, and “swingability” of the Solo model of USA bats. One particular youth volunteer stated the following on her Scorecard,
“I used the Solo last year. It was one of my favorite bats ever. The new Solo is just as great. It was easy to swing and felt very light in my hands.”
Adding to the comfort and control, each one of our bats weighed in between .2 ounces and 1.0 ounces over the stamped weight on the barrel. This is a very good margin for youth metal bats.
OFFICIAL SCORE: 10 / 10
Measuring The Durability Of The Louisville Slugger Solo 619:
During our evaluations, youth bats with wider length to weight ratios tend to incur less damage than bats with a drop of -8 or lower. The younger crop of our volunteer hitters do not usually exert enough force that can damage a metal bat. The Solo 619 took on plenty of punishment during the evaluation process when considering the 250+ solid swings and the numerous foul balls and weak swings. The Solos in our possession did exhibit scratches and scuffs throughout the barrel, but none of them gave way to dings or dents. The Solo held up just as well as last years edition.
OFFICIAL SCORE: 9 / 10
Overall Experience Of The Louisville Slugger Solo 619:

For younger players who want to produce real results while learning the fundamentals of a baseball swing, Louisville developed an alloy bat that does a great job enhancing every aspect of the batting experience for players in the younger divisions of USA Baseball.
