Last year, the 2018 Demarini Voodoo became one of the most reliable USA bats available for the inaugural USA Bat Standard season. We at 2018youthbats anticipate the new Voodoo edition to feature the same consistently productive offensive output as the year prior. The Voodoo comes with a new cosmetic color scheme as well as the same technological advancements from the first model. This bat performed very well in last season’s evaluation and garnered a second-place ranking from us out of all the 2018 USA hybrid bats. Given this model’s success, our staff held the 2019 version to a high regard expecting good results. Despite having an aluminum barrel composition, the 2019 Demarini Voodoo showcased higher than average pop results rivaling the pop levels of fully composite youth USA bats. With both the -10 and -5 drop in our possession, the Voodoo bats drew consistently solid line drive contact pending the batting skills of the volunteer. One particular volunteer stated the following,

“I use a Ghost right now and I am getting more pop from this alloy bat than my composite. Easy to swing to”.

Having a sound and sharp mind while taking at bats is just as important as having a strong swing. Especially for youth athletes, feelings of empowerment provide players with added mental strength and confidence at the plate. Being able to weld a youth metal bat that feel good, comfortable, and distributes quality balance/control will elevate offensive production just as much as raw power. The Voodoo was very well received in this category by our volunteer youth hitters. One particular youth batter commented,

“I love the feel of the Demarini Voodoo. I used this bat last year and nothing has changed. It’s not too heavy and gives me good balanced when I swing.”

Measuring The Durability Of The 2019 Demarini Voodoo:

After approximately 300+ hacks on the ball, the 2019 Demarini Voodoo bats in our possession showed zero signs of major structural damage. Both the -10 & the -5 displayed a handful of handling marks, scuffs, and scratches, however the integrity of the bat was never compromised.
